Free Back to School Backpacks and Haircuts for Local Kids in Humboldt Park

Back to school is an exciting time of year. As a kid, I remember my mom letting us get one new outfit, and I was so excited for the first day of school that I usually slept in my outfit the night before.

But not everyone has a mom to get them back to school supplies or the means for a fresh haircut and new first day of school skirts.

So Theresa Siaw, Director of Business Development at OMNI Healthcare, had an ideato host a Back to School Giveaway event on Friday, August 18th from 12 to 4 p.m. in the OMNI Healthcare’s parking lot located at 2720 West Division Street, Chicago.

Haircuts, Games, and Backpacks for Back to School:

This will be a celebratory day to get kids excited for school. There will be free haircuts from local barbers, food, raffles and games for kids. More than 200 backpacks of assorted colors will be given out to children in the community in honor of the start of the 2017 school year.

“I know school supplies can always be expensive. There’s a lot of single parents in the area and we wanted to give back to the community,” said Siaw.
