4th of July Food and Drink Specials in Chicago

Chicago is a great place to celebrate the 4th of July. With fireworks on the pier, scooters everywhere but downtown, and free hot dogs (keep reading), it’s great to be in the city for the long weekend.

We’ve gathered some of the best 4th of July specials in Chicago for food and drink. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a drink or two with friends and family. And if you’re in a cottage or lake house, I hope you enjoy the getaway.

Cocktail at aliveOne

  • Thursday, July 4; open at 8 p.m.
  • $8 cocktail special

After the Fourth of July barbecues, patrons can head to aliveOne, which will open at 8 p.m. on July 4. On special for the holiday will be $8 1776 cocktails (Crown Royal, yellow chartreuse, lemon juice and Regan’s orange bitters). Additional specials will include $5 Lagunitas drafts and $5 Tito’s cocktails.

Chicagoans can enjoy a Fourth of July beach party at Castaways, the North Avenue Beach hotspot, where they will have live entertainment by The DJ Firm from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. While enjoying the music, guests can sip on a special “Stars & Stripes” frozen cocktail. The festive red, white and blue drink features Castaway’s signature Miami Vice (a frozen mix of pina colada and strawberry daiquiri) topped with blue curacao, and is available for $10 each from Monday, July 1 through Sunday, July 7.

Easy Bar’s Fourth of July Al Fresco Specials

  • Thursday, July 4; open at 8 p.m.
  • $4 to $8 drink specials

Easy Bar will be open from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on the Fourthof July. Guests can celebrate Independence Day with a $4 draft of the day, 5 Rabbit La Protesta and $8 Orange Bottle Rocket cocktails (Ketel One Oranje, New Holland Clockwork Orange Liqueur, Cedilla Liqueur, lime and lemon lime soda).  Patrons can enjoy the evening on Easy Bar’s intimate, dog-friendly sidewalk patio with seating for 15 to 20 guests. Easy Bar will also feature FREE pool all night.

ESTELLE’S Fourth of July Specials

  • $5 to $6 food and drink specials

For Chicagoans looking for a casual spot to wind down after Fourth of July, Estelle’s will open from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. on Thursday, July 4. Specials will include a $7 F*ck Your Patio cocktail (Chicago Distilling Finn’s Gin, Apologue Aronia, demerara, lemon juice), $4 featured drafts, $5 Tito’s cocktails and $5 quesadillas (chicken or cheese with sour cream and pico).

Fourth of July Rooftop Cookout at Joy District & “Forty’s on the Fourth Party” in Parlay

  • Thursday, July 4 at 12 p.m.

Chicagoans who visit Joy District on the Fourth of July will enjoy “Uncle Sam’s Cookout” rooftop party featuring $5 grilled Hot Dogs with all the fixings (special is available on the rooftop only) and $14 Boozy Firecracker frozen cocktail with red, white and blue pina colada. Guests can also enjoy rooftop frozen cocktails for $14 each including a Frozé (rosé, Hangar One rosé vodka, strawberry puree), Casamigos Margarita (rotating flavors) and the Spray Tan (Red Bull Orange, mango puree, Cruzan Strawberry Rum).
Downstairs, Parlay at Joy District will also open at 12 p.m. for a “Forty’s on the Fourth” party featuring select 40-ounce beers paired with a whisky shot for $12. Classic American sliders will also be available (three sliders and waffle fries; $15).

Patrons can kick off the Fourth of July celebrations with prime fireworks viewing at the Miller Lite Beer Garden at the East end Navy Pier on Wednesday, July 3 and Thursday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m., and on Saturday, July 6 at 10:15 p.m.  

On Saturday and Sunday, guests will enjoy live entertainment from the hottest local bands (schedule below). A perfect summer holiday destination, the beer garden offers live music paired with a menu of beers, cocktails, frozen drinks, beer-soaked brats, burgers, hand-tossed pizza and more.

Remedy will open late on the Fourth of Julyat 10 p.m. and offer a patriotic Yankee Doodle cocktail (Aviation gin, Aperol, lemon juice, rhubarb bitters) for $8 each. Free hot dogs with DIY condiments and chips on the side will also be available while supplies last (no limit per customer).
